SocketTools HTTP Client Class

The SocketTools .NET HTTP client class makes it easy to transfer files, access content and interact with web servers. With just a few lines of code, your program can exchange data with a RESTful API service or download a file. The HttpClient class supports both standard and secure connections, proxy servers and automatic proxy detection, user authentication and many other features.

SocketTools supports secure HTTPS connections using TLS with strong encryption up to 256 bits and the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cipher, among several others. Enabling the security features in your application is typically as simple as setting a single property or specifying an additional connection option. The data encryption is handled transparently with no special knowledge required on your part, ensuring that your data is always protected.

SocketTools .NET can be used with all editions of Visual Studio, including the Express edition, in both C# and Visual Basic projects. The HttpClient class provides a complete interface suitable for all kinds of software, from desktop applications to Windows services.

Customer Testimonial

Recently, we were faced with some extremely complex HTTPS/SSL interface issues that caused many hours of downtime for our customers whom depend on us to deliver real-time data information services to their infrastructures. We attempted to use pure .NET solutions to solve the issues with absolutely no luck. We then went outside for help and went through 3 separate expert consulting firms whom all were unable to solve our issues.

After much discussion with Cary Harwin and the Catalyst Support Team, we found the solution to our problems. That solution was SocketTools! The fact is, we were able to overcome our issues within 2 days using the SocketTools components.

We are so grateful to the whole team at Catalyst and especially Cary Harwin, whose patience and understanding was awesome!

Thanks Catalyst!
